Optical Assistant (Mobile)

Salary up to £25,708.80 plus a £3k car allowance (rising to £26,644.80 once you have completed our Front of House Development course)

Bayfields Opticians & Audiologists is currently seeking an experienced mobile Group Support Optical Assistant covering our Cheshire practices (Alsager, Chester, Frodsham, Nantwich, Newcastle Under Lyme, Sandbach & Tarporley). The role involves working 5 days a week ( Monday to Saturday) and due to the nature of this role, you must have a car and a full UK driving licence.

As part of your development, we will enrol you on our Front of House Development course designed to provide you with the knowledge necessary to offer hands-on support to both our professional teams and clients. The course will also deepen your knowledge in both Optical and Audiology to support your career progression.  You will participate in workshops that demonstrate the various types of optical screening equipment in practice and how to carry out basic repairs and adjustments.  It will give you the opportunity to learn in a hands-on environment under the guidance of our experienced managers.  Additionally, you will explore the Audiology journey to understand the impact of hearing loss for our clients and the solutions we can offer. You will also spend two days at the Zeiss Offices in Birmingham where their expert team will take you through the features and benefits of Zeiss lenses showcasing why they are industry leaders.  The final part of your learning journey will take place in a learning practice giving you an opportunity to apply everything you have learned in a safe environment, under the expert guidance of your learning manager.

As our Mobile Optical Assistant, you will have worked within an Optical environment as you will be responsible for covering our practices for sickness and holiday cover.  We need somebody with excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to build strong relationships with your team members, peers, and clients. Accuracy and attention to detail are vital for this role in line with being able to make clear recommendations and clinical decisions.  You will be the first point of contact for our clients, providing excellent service and assisting them in selecting frames, lenses, and other optical products. Responsibilities will include dispensing single-focus, multi-focal, and contact lenses, scheduling appointments, maintaining product displays, and handling administrative tasks.
