Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists Clitheroe

For over 20 years, we've built a reputation as the independent practice of choice in Clitheroe, providing you with the highest standards of professional eye care, together with a friendly service and a commitment to quality.

Thorough eye tests

Our  are so extensive, they last 45 minutes. This means we can see how much your vision has changed since your last eye test and get a picture of your overall eye health. We also offer retinal imaging so we can check all the layers in your retina.

What about your hearing?

We run an audiology clinic every Wednesday and Friday. So whether you know you have problems with your hearing or were just wondering, why not ask for a free hearing test appointment with us?

Sudden eye problems?

If you develop a small eye injury, flashing lights or a floater, irritated eyes, blurry vision, cysts or styes, we participate in the local Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS). As long as you’re registered with a local GP, you can come into the practice and we’ll do our best to see you right away, whether that is for an eye test or speciailist eye care.

How to find us

We’re at the Castle end of Castle Street, in the centre of Clitheroe. You’ll find us a couple of doors down from Boots – look out for our distinctive purple and white building. There’s a large pay & display car park around the corner, called Market Car Park.

Excellent service really thorough eye examination and as I h...ave poor vision in one eye and good vision in the other opportunity could have been taken to miss sell me glasses (as has previously happened elsewhere) that would make very little over all difference but the optician was open and honest. I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend.

Have been a customer of Bayfields, for over a year now. Exce...llent service, when requiring eye test , and my purchase of new glasses, My wife also visited and purchased replacement glasses both time getting excellent service. So this month October 2023 having again problems with my eyes . I telephoned Bayfields Opticians and was given an early morning appointment for an Eye test, excellent service , this time it was noted that I had a condition which called for urgent attention. And made me a same day visit to the Eye department at Burnley General. I am so glad she did. ( ongoing )

I own a pair of Tag Heuer open framed glasses. One lens that... had come unseated from the retaining wire. I initially walked in to Specsaver "...sorry... no can't help you" and S W Allens "...you need to take them back to where you bought them from". On walking into Bayfields super friendly greeting smart dresses very very professional reception. On showing them the glasses it was "...absolutely no problem" with an associated 'health warning' that the lens may chip while being realigned. Took them minutes and glasses were represented glasses to both with adjusted frames and reseated lens. When I ask how much? "no charge sir". In summary don't waste your time visiting the other two opticians in Clitheroe head straight to Bayfields as they clearly have the knowledge, capability and desire to assist the customers. 5 stars !
