Hearing Loss Symptoms

“I’m sorry, could you say that again?”

Busy people can miss the early signs of hearing loss. Perhaps you attribute those misheard moments to ageing, tiredness, or simply being rushed off your feet.

It’s easy to overlook the early signs of hearing loss. The occasional "What did you say?" or turning up the volume might seem like small things, but they could be signs of an underlying issue. At Bayfields Opticians & Audiologists, we’ve put together the most common hearing loss symptoms to help you spot potential problems before they affect your quality of life.

Common Signs of Hearing Loss

  • Difficulty understanding conversations, especially in noisy environments.

  • Asking people to repeat themselves more often than usual.

  • Muffled or distorted sounds, making speech harder to understand.

  • Turning up the volume on the TV or music.

  • Avoiding social situations because of trouble hearing.

  • Feeling tired after being in noisy places.

  • Stress or anxiety around noise.

Tinnitus can often accompany hearing loss.

If you or someone you care about is experiencing any of these symptoms, it’s important to seek help from an audiologist.

Our team at Bayfields Opticians & Audiologists can offer a free hearing test  to determine the best way to improve your hearing health.
