Location: Lytham St Anne’s, FY8 1RF
Hours: 4 days per week / 30.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £23,766.23 pro rata per annum (=£30k FTE per annum 
Contract: Maternity Cover until September 2027
Qualification: FBDO qualified & GOC registered

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician to join our friendly team in Lytham St Anne’s on a maternity cover basis until September 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an FBDO qualified and GOC registered Dispensing Optician who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care, has strong dispensing and product knowledge, and enjoys working as part of a team.

Working 4 days per week / 30.5 hours, your working pattern will be across Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm, and Saturday, 9am–4pm (day off in the week to be confirmed).

As our Dispensing Optician at Bayfields, you will play an important role in delivering our Obsessively Great Service and bringing our Welcome, Discover, Delight client journey to life.

You will be working with frames including Oakley, RayBan, Tom Ford, Carolina Herrera, Wolf and Ted Baker.

What you will be doing

  • Taking a proactive approach to Solutions Meetings and three-way handovers, ensuring every client receives a joined-up and personalised experience.

  • Using your strong dispensing and product knowledge to recommend solutions that meet each client's individual needs, lifestyle and preferences.

  • Supporting clients with contact lens knowledge and services where required.

  • Working closely with Optometrists, Practice Managers and the wider practice team to deliver an exceptional client experience.

  • Following GOC and ABDO guidelines and maintaining the highest professional standards in practice.

  • Keeping your knowledge and skills up to date through CET and ongoing professional development.

  • Being flexible and supporting the wider practice when needed, including working at reception and with contact lenses.

  • Building strong relationships with our clients and ensuring every ECC feels welcomed, listened to and valued.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to deliver Obsessively Great Service every day.

What we're looking for

You'll be an FBDO qualified and GOC registered Dispensing Optician with a genuine passion for delivering excellent clinical care and customer service.

  • Has excellent dispensing and optical product knowledge.

  • Has a good understanding of contact lenses.
