Optical Assistant
Location: Sidcup, DA14 6ND
Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days
Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday, 9am–5:30pm
Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum
About the role
We are looking for an Optical Assistant to join our friendly team in Sidcup.
Client Experience Advisor is our new name for Optical Assistant, reflecting the important role you play in creating an obsessively great experience for every client who walks through our doors. At Bayfields, our Client Experience Advisors are at the heart of the client journey. You will be the first friendly face our clients see when they visit the practice and will play a key role in making sure every person feels welcomed, listened to and valued.
As our CEA, you will improve people's lives by providing obsessively great service to our eye care clients, while supporting our clinical team to deliver an exceptional experience from the moment a client contacts us through to the end of their journey.
You will be an ambassador for our vision and values, building great relationships with our clients and prospective clients and making sure their needs are understood and looked after.
What you will be doing:
- Being the first point of contact for everyone visiting the practice, making sure clients are acknowledged and welcomed as soon as they arrive.
- Providing a warm, friendly and professional experience when dealing with clients in person, over the telephone and by email.
- Taking the time to fully listen to and understand each client's needs.
- Consistently delivering Obsessively Great Service through our Welcome, Discover, Delight client journey.
- Working closely with our Optometrists and wider practice team to understand the best solutions for our clients.
- Being confident in dispensing glasses and helping clients choose the right products for their individual needs.
- Carrying out glasses’ collections, ensuring clients are happy with their new eyewear and understand how to care for it.
- Supporting the clinical team with the smooth running of the practice.
- Helping to create a welcoming, professional and positive environment for both clients and colleagues.
- Building strong relationships with our clients and ensuring they receive a genuinely personal experience.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is friendly, confident and passionate about delivering great customer service.
You will have experience within an optical environment, but most importantly, you will have the right attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference to our clients.
You will be someone who:
- Loves providing exceptional customer service.
- Is confident communicating with people face-to-face, over the telephone and by email.
- Is a great listener and takes the time to understand what people need.
- Takes ownership and follows things through to completion.
- Is confident dispensing glasses and carrying out glasses’ collections.
- Enjoys working as part of a team and supporting colleagues.
- Is commercially aware and understands the importance of finding the right solution for the client.
- Is organised, proactive and able to work in a busy practice environment.
