Knowing what to expect makes your appointment feel simple before you even arrive. Your Bayfields eye test is designed to give you and your optometrist time to understand both how well you can see and how healthy your eyes appear.
Your appointment begins with a conversation. We’ll ask about:
-Your current vision and any changes you’ve noticed
-Your general health
-How you use your eyes day to day, such as screen work, driving, or other close-up tasks.
Understanding the person behind the eyes helps us make your examination and recommendations more relevant to your life.
Your optometrist will examine your eyes and look for anything that may need further attention.

We’ll assess how clearly you can see. If you have a prescription, we’ll let you know if it needs updating.
Your optometrist may carry out a range of tests depending on your individual eyes and needs, rather than following exactly the same process for every client.
Once all the checks are complete, your optometrist will:
-Talk you through the findings
-Explain whether your prescription has changed
-Discuss anything else important about your eye health
If anything is unclear, there’s plenty of time to ask questions and put your mind at ease.
The results of your test will guide the next steps. If everything is healthy, no change may be needed.
